This functionality necessitates the synchronization of blood glucose readings from a compatible app, such as Dexcom G5 Mobile or OneTouch Reveal, into Apple's Health app, along with granting Open Diabetes access to this data.
It is important to note that certain devices, such as Dexcom, may experience delays of up to three hours in transmitting blood glucose data to Apple Health.
The design philosophy behind Open Diabetes emphasizes a positive and data-focused user experience while maintaining a judgment-free environment. The application intentionally avoids bright red or green colors and any imagery associated with blood or syringes, creating a more comfortable interface for users.
